Recent Happenings at Gaia's
GPD is primarily a landscaping company, although the company was established under the premise of ecologically minded vertical integration to maximize utility of waste products across just about any industry. Our landscaping services left us with a plethora of organic matter that greatly benefitted our small farm operation by shrinking our feed costs, and kept us from having to pay for disposal of the material. Integrations like this are what I strive to curate in business. Here are a few examples of projects that GPD has taken on beyond landscaping.
Mushroom Farming: We were contracted to establish and manage a gourmet mushroom farm that utilized waste products to grow up to 1000 pounds per week. They were primarily sold to wholesale customers.
Retail Nursery: The nursery was a natural extension of waste products from the mushroom farm and served as a great testing field for the adjacent fertilizer brand.
Fertilizer Initiative: In line with our commitment to sustainability, we've helped to develop a complex organic fertilizer that is derived from locally sourced materials.
