GAIA's Roots

Why We're Here?

“Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex,
the solutions remain embarrassingly simple.”-Bill Mollison

GAIA's was propagated in 2013, when the need for a professional ecological solutions in Texas became apparent. Whether or not we like to admit it Austin is teetering on the edge of desertification. Is this the way that things are supposed to be? We now know that many deserts around the world were essentially man made, whether through overpopulation,  or flawed agricultural practices. With that in mind, is it not possible to reverse these trends? Can we go beyond being "sustainable" and break into being "regenerative"? If you ask us we'll tell you a million times, YES! It is up to us to ensure our designs not only satisfy you as a customer, but also entice your neighbors curiosity. Through this snowball effect, our designs have potential to change the future for Central Texas .

What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is a branch of ecological design, ecological engineering, environmental design, construction, and integrated water resources management that develops sustainable architecture, regenerative/self-maintained habitat, and agricultural systems modeled from natural ecosystems.
